Die Arbeitsgruppe DVC schlägt die folgenden Empfehlungen für den DMR-Betrieb im BrandMeister-Netzwerk vor:
Selfcare
Man soll im BrandMeister-Netz einen Account anlegen, um persönliche Einstellungen vornehmen zu können. Im Selfcare die folgenden Einstellungen vornehmen:
- APRS SSID auf 5 setzen.
- Icon auswählen.
- Marke des Funkgeräts auswählen (Transkodierung von Mitteilungen).
- Hytera: Hytera
- Anytone: Chinese radio
- Beschreibenden Text in das Feld APRS Text eintragen, zum Beispiel den eigenen Vornamen.
Sprechgruppen (Talkgroups)
Bei DMR erfolgt der Sprachbetrieb in einer sogenannten “Sprechgruppe” oder “Talkgroup”. Zwischen BrandMeister-Relais sind diese Sprechgruppen vernetzt. Das bedeutet, dass alle Relais, auf denen eine gewisse Sprechgruppe aktiviert ist, das Funkgespräch dieser Sprachgruppe zeitgleich übertragen.
Bei den Relais der LARU existieren die folgenden statischen Sprechgruppen. Diese Sprechgruppen sind permanent auf dem Relais aktiv und Funkgespräche, die in diesen Sprechgruppen geführt werden, werden immer von den entsprechenden Relais übertragen.:

Die Notfunksprechgruppen (EMCOMM) sind nur bei offiziellem Notfunkbetrieb zu benutzen. Je nach Standort des Relais sind weitere statische Sprechgruppen auf Zeitschlitz 1 (TS1) geschaltet:

Im BrandMeister-Netz sind jedoch auch dynamische Sprechgruppen auf beiden Zeitschlitzen schaltbar. So ist es möglich alle existierenden Sprechgruppen temporär auf einen Zeitschlitz zu verlinken (z.B TG 262, Deutschland), wobei das Relais dann auch den Funkverkehr dieser Sprechgruppen überträgt. Mögliche Sprechgruppen können hier eingesehen werden.

Nach 15 Minuten Inaktivität wird die temporäre Sprechgruppe automatisch vom Zeitschlitz getrennt.
Die LARU empfiehlt:
- Zeitschlitz 1 (TS 1) für nationalen Funkverkehr mit statischen Sprechgruppen, die auf dem jeweiligen Relais permanent geschaltet sind (TG 270, TG 270x und TG 9)
- Zeitschlitz 2 (TS 2) für nationalen und internationalen Funkverkehr mit dynamischen Sprechgruppen (und TG 9). Ausweichmöglichkeit auch für statische Gruppen, falls TS 1 belegt.
Dynamische Sprechgruppen sollen bevorzugt auf Zeitschlitz 2 (TS 2) geschaltet werden. Bitte keine dynamischen Sprechgruppen systematisch auf den Zeitschlitz 1 (TS 1) schalten! Dynamische Sprechgruppen sollen nur auf den Zeitschlitz (TS 1) geschaltet werden, falls der Zeitschlitz 2 (TS 2) schon besetzt ist.
Reflektorbetrieb
Reflektoren existieren nicht mehr im BM-Netz.

The DVC working group recommends the following settings for operating in the BrandMeister network in Luxembourg:
Selfcare:
You should create a BrandMeister network account, for adjusting personal settings. Adjust the following settings in Selfcare:
- APRS SSID 5
- Select an icon.
- Select your radio brand (transcoding of messages).
- Hytera: Hytera
- Anytone: Chinese radio
- Put some descriptive text in the APRS text field, for example your first name.
Talkgroups:
The following static talkgroups are present on LARU repeaters (these talkgroups are present permanently):

Talkgroups for emergency traffic (EMCOMM) shall only be used for official emrgency traffic. Depending of t he location of the repeater, further talkgroups exist on timselot 1 (TS1) of the repeater:

Dynamic talkgroups can be activated on both timeslots in the BrandMeister network. This makes it possible to activate all existing talkgroups temporarily on a certain timeslot (e.g TG 262, Germany). Existing talkgroups can be looked up here.

Activated talkgrups will be automatically unlinked after 15 miutes of inactivity.
The LARU recommends:
- Timeslot 1 (TS 1) for national QSO’s with the static talkgroups on a given repeater (TG 270, TG270x and TG 9).
- Timeslot 2 (TS 2) for national and international QSO’s with dynamic talkgroups (and TG 9). May be used as an alternative for static talkgroups if TS 1 is busy.
Dynamic talkgroups should be activated preferentially on timeslot 2 (TS 2). Please don’t activate dynamic talkgroups systematically on timesolt 1 (TS 1)!
Reflectors
Reflector no longer exist in the BM network.
